My first car in 1986! It was a rusty (was there any other kind? ) 1976 Datsun B210 hatch in blue. It was slow, but so were a lot of other cars of it’s era. I have fond memories of that old Datsun.

When I was a little kid, my dad had a friend with a B210, I remember being interested in it for the somewhat racy fastback lines, and the honeycomb hubcaps. Then I got a ride in it, and reality hit - it was no more exciting than my dad’s Horizon. Datsun had some whimsical styling anyway, quite a few quirky models.

Back when I was in high school, there was a student teacher who drove the rustiest yellow (mostly) F10. Here’s the picture of it from my yearbook:

The picture really doesn’t do it justice. Cars don’t usually rust that bad here since it’s so dry, but this thing was a jalopy. It must have come from somewhere back east. And yes, that whole front fender was rust colored.
